Well I am clearly not an expert when it comes to relationships but I'm pretty sure that this blog of mine could emphasize a few tips on keeping a relationship in a OKAY status.
Reason behind this rather interesting blog is because few of my friends are having their relationship issues nowadays, so in a way it INSPIRED me to write something about it.
Oops, if your expecting some "chismis" that's not what I meant. I'm just going to discuss my relationship views in general, not in comparison with any of my friend's issues. I may even discuss my relationship with my boyfriend if I'm in the mood for it :)
Some people say, that you will never know the true characteristic of your partner unless your already married and living in the same house. Maybe because it is during that stage of living together, that you actually see how life is with your partner. If your day always seems better with him, your lucky! but not everyday is a fairy tale we all know that. Some days maybe better some days could be worst but if you still want that same person despite any hardships or stress that he/she may bring into your life. Then seriously your in love.
But being in love is not the only important ingredient in keeping a relationship going. why? because in reality its not everyday that your partner could make you feel IN LOVE, KILIG or SPECIAL. so in a way some days you may feel unloved (for girls) or taken for granted which will eventually cause tampuhan, LQ or some call it misunderstanding, but we all know that it will end up with issues eventually.
So to actually keep a relationship in its good state, I think it is important to keep this 3 basic rules in mind: talk sincerely, listen carefully and understand truthfully.
Which means:
TALK SINCERELY - guys this is not a guessing game, if you want your partner to know your feelings, you have to tell him/ her. Don't wait for them to do, to say or to understand what you want automatically cause it's not gonna happen.
LISTEN CAREFULLY - this is very very important during fight scenes (kidding aside), listening is part of our everyday life, but carefully listening is a lot different from just listening alone, cause when you listen it is not all the time that you pay attention or you understand everything that your partner is saying. It's different when we listen carefully, cause it is where we put our self in focus on what the speaker is trying to say. Sometimes we all tend to get tired of sentiments or issues so we tend to just listen but we are not actually understanding the content of the conversation.
UNDERSTAND TRUTHFULLY - this is the last rule which is the most crucial part, after all the talking and the listening; it all boils down on how you understand the point of your conversation. If you cannot accept or understand one point you must always put a closure to it by discussing it freely with your partner. This stage is where you close all the issues in order to move forward with your relationship.
If in case this simple rules does not help you, well maybe its about time to think about moving forward with your life without your partner. Since without understanding, honesty, and transparency there is no possibility to maintain a lasting relationship.
And lastly, don't make your relationship complicated; your partner is not your punching bag, not your shock absorbent, not your servant, and not your puppet.
So to have a LASTING RELATIONSHIP it is important to LOVE YOUR PARTNER WITH RESPECT AND ALWAYS PUT GOD IN THE CENTER OF YOUR RELATIONSHIP.
